BOXING: Spectators at Dalby PCYC's inaugural fight night next week are set for a smashing evening of entertainment, with 23 pre-match fights on the cards.

Dalby boxing coach Andrew Alderton said it was set to be a massive night.

"We've got fighters coming from Gladstone, St George, Murgen, Roma, Toowoomba, Nerang and Gatton,” he said.

The Dalby PCYC boxing gym will also be fielding several fighters during the night.

"We've got a lot of fresh boxers making their debuts,” Alderton said.

One of those making their debut is Harry Jones, who said after weeks of hard work in the gym he was feeling confident leading into the bout.

"The nerves haven't kicked in too much yet, but I'm sure that's still to come,” he said.

One of the Dalby fighters with previous experience, Chase Alderton, said with just a week to go he was starting to feel the nerves.

"I'm a bit nervous, but I'll get over that,” he said.

The fight night will be the PCYC's biggest fundrasing event for the year, and Andrew Alderton encouraged the community to go along and cheer on their local fighters.

The night will also feature raffles and a memorabilia silent auction.

The fight night is being held next Friday from 5pm at the PCYC Hall on Cooper St, Dalby.

Tickets are$10 for under-18s and $15 for adults, and can be purchased on the night.
