With the weather cooling it's time to bust out the blankets, a warm jumper and your favourite snacks for the return of the Western Downs Regional Council’s ever-popular family-friendly outdoor movies.
Starting next month Western Downs residents will be able to enjoy a series of free community drive-ins coming to Chinchilla, Dalby, Miles, and Tara.
Community and Cultural Development spokesman councillor Peter Saxelby said the outdoor movies would once again offer a wonderful opportunity for locals to come together for a relaxed, family-friendly, and fun community event.
“Council is committed to ensuring that our region is alive with activities that connect our active, vibrant communities, even during the winter months,” Mr Saxelby said.
“We are proud to deliver this event for its fourth consecutive year and provide residents with an opportunity to leave their house, enjoy the novelty of an outdoor movie screening, all while keeping warm in the comfort of their own cars.
“In the Western Downs ‘it’s the people that make it’, and year after year we see crowds of people roll into this event with their friends and family, stocked up on goodies to watch the movie as a community, and I encourage everyone to make the most of this wonderful event which will be coming to a town near you soon.“
Food and beverages will not be available for purchase, so residents are encouraged to bring their own food and drink. The event is also unlicensed.
