A PUBLICAN of O'shea's Windsor Hotel has leaked an image of the first wind turbine ever to be erected in Dalby's history on Thursday.

The wind turbine is the first of 123 turbines to be erected as part of the Coopers Gap Wind Farm project, which will have the capacity to power more than 250,000 homes.

The project will be one of Australia's largest wind farms upon completion in 2019.

The publican was on a morning walk when the white wind turbine became visible.

"If you travel west on Niagara Road and look out to your right you will see it,” the publican said.

It is said the wind turbines are sitting 100m out of the ground and have foundations of more than 500m.
