A GLOBAL animal feed and grain business has applied to expand its operations in Oakey.

A GLOBAL animal feed and grain business has applied to expand its operations in Oakey.

Riverina (Australia) Pty Ltd has applied to Toowoomba Regional Council for a development application for a warehouse to augment its existing grain handling facility at Queen and Middle Sts.

"The building will be used for the packaging, storage and wholesale distribution of grain products processed on-site," documents filed with the council said.

"The new shed will have a building height of 14.18m with a roof-mounted bagging shute that will have an overall height of 23.8 metres."

The expansion will have a floor area of 4484.9 sq m and a covered loading area on the eastern side of the building with a roof area of 545.2 sq m, and the building will be

setback 18m from the Queen St frontage, including a two metre-wide landscape strip.

"Additional landscaping will be provided along the length of the loading area on the eastern side of the shed and the development ensures retention of mature trees established along the Middle Street and Cunliffe Street frontages of the site," documents said.
