Cyclist dies after horror crash at Lake Manchester Rd, Kholo

A man from Brisbane’s western suburbs has sadly died after a horror collision with a car west on Saturday morning.

A Brisbane cyclist has sadly died after a horror collision with a car west of Brisbane on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Lake Manchester Rd, Kholo just after 7am.

Police have identified the cyclist as a 34-year-old Bardon man, who died at the scene.

The man was struck by a Holden Captiva on the intersection of Manchester Road and Kholo Road in Kholo at 7am.

He was being treated for significant head, chest, and abdominal injuries before passing away.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was transported to Ipswich Hospital to be assessed but was in a stable condition and uninjured.

Lake Manchester road near Ben Varden avenue remains closed by police and highway patrol.

Motorists are urged to find an alternative route.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is ongoing and police are requesting witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
