Police are appealing for dashcam footage of a serious car crash in Brisbane’s south this morning, which left one man critically injured.
About 1am, emergency services were responding to an unrelated single-vehicle crash on the M1 Gateway Motorway northbound at Carindale in which a guard rail was struck.
Police, emergency services and several tow trucks were stationary, with flashing lights activated in the two far right lanes.
About 1.30am, a car crashed into the rear of a stationary tow truck on the motorway at Coopers Plains.
The 52-year-old male driver, and sole occupant, was immediately treated by emergency services on scene and transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
Northbound lanes of the Gateway Motorway in the area were impacted for several hours.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Meanwhile, traffic flow was returning to normal after an earlier incident on the Centenary Motorway in Brisbane’s west.
A four-car crash on the Jindalee Bridge about 10am sparked major delays.
Queensland ambulance was called but was not required to transport anyone to hospital.
At the height of the delays travel time blew out by 40 minutes, with traffic banked up to Sumner.
Meanwhile in Cairns, a person is in a critical condition after their motorcycle struck a tree on Exploration Way, Edmonton, about 3.45pm.
No other people were involved.
