A massive inferno has engulfed dozens of vehicles at an auction house in Brisbane’s south.
The blaze broke out at the Pickles auction house site in Beatty Rd, Archerfield, just before 8.30pm on Thursday.
A rack of 20 to 30 cars was engulfed in flames, with plumes of smoke seen billowing from the industrial area.
Seven fire crews were on the scene.
Police closed Beatty Rd adjacent to Archerfield Airport.
It was understood the fire had not spread to further vehicles.
Hundreds of cars are stored at the facility.
A spokesperson for auction house Pickles said it was too early to share updates on the impact of the fire.
“We’re collaborating closely with authorities to investigate the cause of the incident and assess the extent of the damage,” a spokesperson said.
“At this stage, we have no further information but will provide updates as they become available.
“We appreciate the swift response of the emergency services and the co-operation of the public during this time.”
