THE Warrego Highway in Chinchilla will be closed to all traffic on August 5-6.
The 36-hour closure at the open level crossing will start Sunday at 6am and run through until 6pm on the Monday.
The works will allow Queensland Rail to replace sleepers, tracks, and resurface in advance of the Department of Transport and Main Road's highway upgrade.
Queensland Rail will carry out this construction continuously as day and night works to minimise the disruptions.
The entire construction period will be four days, starting on Saturday, August 4 at 6am until 6pm on Tuesday, August 7, with traffic management in place when the highway is open.
A detour will be in place while the highway is closed with traffic diverted along Cemetery Road/Chinchilla-Wondai Road/Park Street/Colamba Street.
This detour follows an approved B-double route.
Some light and noise impacts are expected through the use of reversing lights and horns.
Dust suppression will be used to minimise impacts.
