If you’re feeling the squeeze of the rental and buyers market in the Western Downs, there is hope on the horizon, with an extension for a potential block of units approved in Miles.
Western Downs Regional Council approved an extension application submitted by Newok Pty Ltd on February 22, 2021, to establish six dwelling units at 74 Constance Street.
Originally approved in July 2013, the development has been approved twice for extension requests of two years in August 2017, and July 2019.
The new application will extend the development permit until February 23, 2023.
According to council documents, the original development application was for the material change of use to establish multiple dwellings, while reconfiguring lots one and two.
Located only 11 minutes from the Miles CBD on Murilla Street, the Western Downs village west of Chinchilla has been on the receiving end of council developments in 2021.
Western Downs Regional Council received funding in April to deliver a multimillion-dollar project that will transform the Miles CBD.
The Miles Visitor Information Centre and Historical Village Museum entrance will also undergo a makeover to enhance its presence and offer new opportunities for visitors to stop, visit and spend money locally.
