Multiple Western Down drivers have been found guilty of drink or drug driving and taken off the roads in Chinchilla Magistrates Court this week.
Stephen Michael Lauder fronted court for drink driving at the Chinchilla Weir in the afternoon of March 31.
The Chinchilla man recorded a breath alcohol concentration of 0.223.
Lauder allegedly seriously assaulted an officer during the altercation, although his assault and obstruction charges were set aside for mention on October 21.
He pleaded guilty to one count of drink driving, was fined $1300, and disqualified from driving for 15 months.
Being on a court-suspended licence didn’t stop the pregnant Michelle Elizabeth Maree Williams fighting for her car keys.
The altercation broke out at a Chinchilla home on August 28, and ultimately led to the 26-year-old getting her car key from a concerned cousin and drink driving.
She recorded a BAC of 0.106 at the scene.
Police prosecutor Chris Hutchins said it was a concerning turn of events considering Williams was on probation for dangerous driving.
Defence lawyer Michael Corbin said Williams had organised a designated driver but decided to take off when things got heated.
Williams pleaded guilty to drink driving while disqualified and was disqualified from driving for two years and three months.
Magistrate Kerri O’Callaghan told the mum a second child on the way should serve as a reminder to do the right thing and also placed her on an 18-month probation order.
A Miles and Chinchilla real estate agent caught a lucky break when she was granted a work licence after pleading guilty to drink driving.
During the town-wide Miles Back to the Bush Festival celebration, real-estate agent Hayley Maree Paterson was caught drink driving on Pine Street.

Police nabbed the driver along Youngman Street on August 20, where a drug test revealed the drugs in his system.
The self-represented Williams told the court he’d had a big night at the pub the night before, and knew he’d “stuffed up”.
He pleaded guilty to drug driving. The dad was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for three month.
P-plater Zachary Lee Giddins admitted to officers straight away he was likely to be over the zero-alcohol limit when he was pulled over on the Warrego Highway.
On August 27 at Dulacca, Giddins recorded a BAC of 0.02.

Liam Rhys Lockwood was taken off the roads for three months after he was busted drug drug driving.
The P-plater was nabbed behind the wheel with both marijuana and meth in his system at Lockwood.
Lockwood was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for three months.
He entered the guilty plea in Roma Magistrates Court but had the case transferred to his hometown for sentence.
