Chinchilla solar farm installer supervisor Michael Taylor lost his licence for six months after he decided to drive after having after-work beers at the pub.

Police prosecutor Derek Brady said the energy worker had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.153 per cent on July 17.

The court heard it was a costly mistake as the 43-year-old dad wouldn’t be able to visit his children on the Gold Coast as their mother won’t make the trip out to Miles where Taylor lives.

Taylor pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of liquor and was also fined $1500.

Another solar farm worker was caught drink driving in Chinchilla after he failed to give way to a cop car and promptly mounted a kerb.

Police prosecutor sergeant Derek Brady said the French backpacker Florian Loic Margage was pulled over on July 16 with a BAC of 0.112 per cent.

Margage pleaded guilty to drink driving and was fined $450 and disqualified from driving for three months. No conviction was recorded.

A Miles woman lost her job at an accounting firm after she was caught attempting to drive with a BAC of 0.112 per cent.

Cara May Hay told the court she was extremely remorseful and had the added punishment of her young boy moving in with his grandparents because she couldn’t drive him to the school bus stop.

Hay pleaded guilty to attempting to drive under the influence and was fined $450 and disqualified for three months.

Miles dad Mitchell Wayne Rice also lost his licence for three months after police caught him driving with a BAC of 0.118.

Rice told the court his “terrible lack of judgment” caused him to miss his daughter’s birthday for the first time ever, and said he may still lose his job.

He pleaded guilty to drink driving and was fined $650.

Lastly, Dereck Sheldon Robert Latham pleaded guilty to driving over the general alcohole limit in Chinchilla on July 24 and was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.
