Tensions exploded at a Chinchilla home when the council and police tried and failed to take a family pet accused of biting a neighbour.

A mother and daughter duo faced Chinchilla court for the abusive tirade after officers charged Christie Lee and Julie Maree Jackson with public nuisance.

Police prosecutor sergeant Chris Hutchins said Christie Lee Jackson, 37, assumed her neighbour had called the council and told police she was going to kill her.

“She said her dog had never bit anyone and ‘the sl-t up the road was a liar… I’m going to f—king kill her,’” he said.

Sergeant Hutchins said the mother of six snipped at officers, “one day you’re going to be walking down the street like a normal person without a gun and taser”.

Jackson’s 56-year-old mother Julie Maree Jackson raged alongside her daughter yelling at the council and police to “get the f—ck of the property”.

Sergeant Hutchins said the 37-year-old mum was understandably upset but it didn’t excuse her actions on Tuesday, August 10.

“I understand some people are quite attached to their animals, her behaviour comes solely from the emotional attachment,” he said.

“(Police) understood her reason for being upset that’s why she wasn’t charged with anything else.”

Lawyer Claire Graham said Christie Jackson, who was on parole at the time of the offence, reacted in shock and surprise as she had no idea the council was coming to her home.

“They didn’t take the dog and she ended up working with council… and has written apology letters,” she said.

Christie Lee Jackson pleaded guilty to public nuisance and was fined $450.

Julie Jackson pleaded guilty to public nuisance and was fined $300 but no conviction was recorded against her.
