A 69-YEAR-old-man and his two dogs are lucky to walk away from a crash along the Warrego Highway yesterday morning.

The Chinchilla News understands the car slid off the road at roadworks about 10km west of Chinchilla about 9am.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said officers, firefighters and paramedics were called out to the scene at 9.08 am.

It is understood the man was travelling east when the driver lost control and slid sideways off the road ending up in a ditch.

The man and his two dogs were the only occupants in the vehicle.

Queensland Ambulance assessed the driver at the scene but no one has sustained serious injuries.
