Man rushed to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after Chinchilla industrial incident

A man his recovering in hospital after he was crushed in an industrial incident in the Western Downs.

A 58-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was crushed by a gate at a Chinchilla business overnight.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident when a member of the public heard the man’s cries for help and phoned triple-0.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the man was working at a Dwyer Court business when a gate fell on him about 6.20pm on Tuesday.

He suffered potentially life-threatening neck, head and arm injuries.

Police and paramedics arrived soon after, stabilised the man at the scene and transported him to the Chinchilla Hospital.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland will investigate the matter.
