An injured man has been flown to hospital after a horse riding accident where he fell and was crushed by the heavy animal before lying alone for hours.
The man aged in his late 50s, was riding a horse on a private property at Pelican, north of Chinchilla, on Monday afternoon when he fell from the animal.
He was left lying alone for several hours with internal injuries and a dislocated elbow, with his wife eventually finding him and calling for help.
The man was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
