Cow causes highway crash

A person has been taken to Dalby Hospital with injuries after hitting a stray cow on the Warrego Highway in Dalby, early Saturday evening.

A PERSON has been taken to Dalby Hospital with injuries after hitting a stray cow on the Warrego Highway in Dalby early Saturday evening.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash around 6.45pm, after a cow that had wandered onto the middle of the highway was hit.

One person was taken to hospital via ambulance after being injured from an air-bag deploying.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services removed the cow and a truck leaking diesel from the scene.

A witness said there were about 10 people on the scene, with one woman seen crying near the cow.
