Community rallies for man struck on Warrego Highway
A MAN, 30, has had to have his right leg amputated after having been struck by two vehicles on the Warrego Highway last Friday.

A CHINCHILLA man, 30, has had to have his right leg amputated after having been struck by two vehicles on the Warrego Highway last Friday.
Steven King, 30, was resuscitated twice at the scene before being airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Mr King underwent surgery early Saturday morning in an attempt to save his right leg but were unfortunately unable to do so.
Mr King's mother, Trish Williams said the initial assessment of his injuries revealed extensive damage, including multiple fractured bones and internal injuries.
He is currently in an induced coma at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, not having regained consciousness since the accident.
Mr King's immediate family have travelled to Brisbane to be by his side.
Mrs Williams said the doctors were monitoring Mr King's condition.
"Considering he hasn't gotten any worse, we think that's a positive," said Ms Williams.
"He's holding on."
Mr King had been attempting to walk home to Chinchilla from Jondaryan after being unable to find a ride home last Friday evening when he was struck.
He had reportedly been walking west bound on the highway between Jondaryan and Bowenville at around 7pm when he attempted to cross the highway.
He was then struck by a sedan and a truck travelling west.
The truck travelling behind the sedan swerved to avoid the car and man.
The truck then struck the man, resulting in the man being pinned underneath the rear wheels of the truck.
Police are still investigating the incident.
Mr King's family has set up an online gofundme page to raise money to assist in medical costs.
