THE rising cost of living has caused two-thirds of Australians to cut back on spending, a consumer watchdog says.
The Choice national Consumer Pulse Report found across-the-board increases in the cost of living in households.
Choice chief Alan Kirk-land said 85% of households had reported increased expenses in the past year and electricity was the biggest concern for the fifth straight quarter.
"We are concerned to see these signs of household stress at a time when inflation and mortgage interest rates are historically low," he said.
