YOUNG Tom Gordon and his noble stead were a force to be reckoned with at the Hannaford Gymkhana over the weekend.
Taking out the junior age division in the Stockman's Challenge on his nippy little pony, Watchman, Tom was among hundreds of riders from across the Western Downs who flocked to the Hannaford State School on Saturday to partake in the 79th annual Gymkhana and Fete.
With an abundance of dust and country spirit in the air, it was the perfect opportunity for the committee to raise some funds for the school.
"It's a steady achievement for a small community to keep such an event going over so many generations,” Hannaford Gymkhana Secretary, Annie Hubbard said.
"We had great attendance with the highest number of entrants we've seen for a number of years and a smashing day of competition,” she said.
"At the end of the day it's great to see so many people out supporting the Hannaford school and community.”
