A routine RBT in Charleville took an unexpected turn after police allegedly discovered a quantity of drugs. Find out what happened here.

Operation Mistletoe, 2023

A 38-year-old man is being investigated for drug-related offences after he was intercepted in Charleville.

Police allege the man, who is not a Charleville local, returned a positive drug test when he was intercepted on December 15, 2023. Upon further investigation, police allegedly found various dangerous drugs in the man’s car.

Police investigations are continuing regarding the man’s involvement in further drug offences, which they believe could involve places anywhere between Charleville and Longreach.

The man has been charged with a variety of dangerous drug possession offences, but no court date has been set yet, due to the ongoing investigations.

The man was intercepted as a part of Queensland police’s Christmas crackdown, also known as Operation Mistletoe, which has police conducting more high-visibility roadside breath testing over the festive season.
