A recently empty and bare shopfront has lit up as a new business fills the void at a Central Queensland mining community.
Australian discount chain The Reject Shop opened in Moranbah on Thursday, June 17, filling the space that sat empty since the closure of Target Country early this year.
The major retailer, which has created 10 local jobs so far, offers high quality essentials, including grocery staples, baby products, pet items, cleaning products, beauty, stationary and much more from big brands that Australians know and love.
General manager of operations Paul Calvert said the new location had been welcomed by the community.
“We’re really excited to be making our offering even more accessible to the local Moranbah community,” he said.
“We know this community appreciates variety and now more than ever, Aussies are looking to save money on everyday essentials.
“Our incredible team are all really proud to be able to offer our shoppers with quality product for much less.
“We don’t believe in running a temporary discount model, we believe in having everyday low prices that customers can trust to save them money.
“It’s imperative to us that our shoppers can rely on The Reject Shop to build their budget and shopping list with confidence.”
The Reject Shop has also recently expanded into the grocery field, with the introduction of the UK grocery brand, TESCO, adding more variety for local shoppers.
The Moranbah store opening marked the 360th store for the company across Australia, adding to the team of more than 5,300 employees committed to helping Australians save money every day.
