Owners farewell the “supportive” community after the 13 year business venture.

A small family owned convenience store has closed its doors to the Emerald community after a 13 year business venture.
Spar on Mayfair provided locals with a range of products and everyday items including milk, bread, cold drinks, chickens and a stocked hot box.
A Facebook post revealed the owners were moving on to their next adventure.
“We have been a locally owned business providing a service for 13 years in Emerald and we cannot thank the Emerald community enough for the continuous support over this time,” the post revealed.
While many customers wished them well for the new venture, many others shared their disappointment that they would no longer be able to purchase their favourite sweet treats from The Cheesecake Shop, which were stocked regularly.
The store, located at the corner of Gregory Highway and Mayfair Drive, closed on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
The owners held a half price sale for customers before its closure.
