AN international darts tournament at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne erupted into chaos at the weekend when crowd members began throwing plastic chairs and tables.
The crowd began building a pyramid of furniture about 9pm on Saturday during the Darts Invitational Challenge final between Simon "The Wizard" Whitlock and Mighty Michael van Gerwen.
Police were called in to control the situation and about 40 fans were ejected from the stadium.
Venue spokesman Bill Lane told ABC Online it was appalling and juvenile behaviour from a small minority.
"The MC and one of the competitors, who in fact is the reigning world number one Michael Van Gerwen, they called for a restore to order and to a degree there was a positive response," he said.
"So there was a disruption of about 15-20 minutes."
No arrests were made and no-one was injured in the incident.
