One lucky golfer could win a brand new $50,000 vehicle at CQ Pet Rescue’s next charity golf day at the Emerald Golf Club.

Central Highlands Auto has sponsored hole 17, with a vehicle up to the value of $50,000 going to the first amateur competitor to hit a hole-in-one.

The annual charity golf day will be held on Saturday, March 27, an 18-hole, three-person ambrose raising funds the local animal rescue organisation.

CQPR’s Madison Day said the fundraiser would allow the team to continue to rehome animals across the region.

“CQ Pet Rescue is the only animal rescue organisation in the Central Highlands,” she said.

“We take in cats and dogs, which all receive full vaccinations, checks and desexing.

“These are significant costs to cover, so all money raised will help us to continue our work in the community.”

Throughout March, the organisation has also funded 50 desexing vouchers to assist locals with cats.

“We’re hoping to run that desexing program again, so any extra funds will go towards that,” Ms Day said.

Competitors will tee-off at 10.30am and are welcome to dress up for the day.

Refreshments will be available around the course, with betting holes, raffles and prizes also up for grabs.

Teams can register for $150, by calling the Pro Shop or emailing admin@cqpetrescue.com.au, or sending the team a message through Facebook.

“This is the first charity golf day I’ve been involved with and I’ve heard it’s an amazing day out,” Ms Day said.

“It’s a day to bring community members together for a great cause, a lot of fun and it’s helping an organisation continue to do what they do.”
