An Emerald based electrical and refrigeration company has been acquired by a leading technology firm in a major deal.
Enwise Electrical and Refrigeration, which also operates in Toowoomba, has been acquired by east-coast company SRO Technology in a deal which will allow the business to increase its regional market base and end-to-end solutions for the process and energy sectors.
The business provides a range of services in airconditioning, refrigeration, and electrical to domestic, industrial, commercial, and mining areas across Central Queensland and the Darling Downs.
SRO managing director Nick Bamford said the acquisition was about two similar businesses that had been a part of their respective communities for decades coming together to work as equals to improve their business opportunities for the staff and customers alike.
“With Enwise joining SRO, we are building on 51 years of combined experience,” Mr Bramford said.
“We share the same values and vision for continued local employment and training, with more opportunities for our people to diversify their knowledge and skills.
“Customers from mining to commercial construction will benefit from local fabrication and servicing of electrical equipment in Central Queensland, as well as a stronger team of 47 technicians and staff on the ground.”
Mr Bramford said it was an exciting time for both businesses and he looked forward to working closely with Enwise managing director Justin Scutt to set the combined business up for success.
Mr Scutt was happy about what this means for the future of the business with the switch to a locally based leader and the chance for stronger community ties.
“I am so proud of the Enwise family and the business we’ve created over two decades,” Mr Scutt said.
“With SRO, there are even further opportunities for our people and their families to grow and prosper.
“Enwise will continue to operate in Emerald under the same name that people know and trust, and there are of course plans to continue supporting the local community as we have done for the past 17 years.
“I look forward to working with Nick and supporting the transition, spending time between Emerald and my family in Toowoomba as we search for the best person to drive the local business forward.”
SRO focuses on technology-driven products and services that precisely measure and handle bulk materials, with equipment and parts assembled in Brisbane, Sydney and now Central Queensland.
The Enwise acquisition follows a period of strategic growth for SRO since Bamford joined as managing director in 2021.
SRO and Enwise will continue to support customers in mining, government, commercial construction, as well as a variety of other energy and process industries, with a combined team of 85 people across Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia.
