MUMS and bubs are coming out to play and learn together through a new initiative being launched by IWC's North Burnett team.

A regular free morning tea event being held by the not-for-profit health and wellbeing organisation will have two purposes, to provide health and medical support and create a fun and supportive group.

IWC Assistant Manager Cynthia George said IWC delivers bill-billed, mums to be, services across the region and this includes six weeks of post-natal support from our midwife Klare Craven-Hughes.

"The mums and bubs sessions deliver a seamless flow-on from the midwife support and education, and they are free and open to everyone,” she said.

IWC is non-government, Aboriginal community-run and a registered charity, offering a wide range of health and wellbeing services across the North Burnett.

IWC services are for everyone, Indigenous and non-Indigenous.

The Mums & Bubs Group will meet on the third Thursday of each month, bringing parents together with their babies and young children to share a cuppa and enjoy a range of craft and other activities.

"We also will offer education and information useful to parents, which will include diet and nutrition, and provide health and medical services including weighing and monitoring the growth of new babies,” Ms George said.

"We invite everyone to attend these free sessions, which will run from 10am-noon at the IWC house at 16 Meson St, Gayndah.”

IWC courtesy transport is available, just call IWC on 4161 4800 to book a place so they can pick you up and drop you home again.
