A Queensland junior rugby league coach has been charged with more than 30 child sex offences after allegedly abusing multiple children for more than two years.
Burdekin Roosters Junior Rugby League coach Jason Paul Williams, 48, was arrested and charged with seven offences in July, before being charged with 25 more offences in August.
Police will allege Williams, from Ayr in North Queensland, abused multiple children between January 2021 and July this year.
It will also be alleged he created child exploitation material of his victims and shared it online.
Williams has spent almost 20 years volunteering his time to Burdekin Roosters, including serving as coach, referee, vice president and president.
Rugby League Townsville District chairman Roger Whyte confirmed Williams had been stood down from his role within the club.
Williams has been charged with 12 counts of making child exploitation material (CEM), seven counts of using a carriage service to transmit or make CEM available, six counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16, and other offences.
He was remanded in custody on his first mention at Townsville Magistrates Court and will face court again on September 15.
