Two days after the fire gutted the Spotted Dog Tavern and the Federal Backpackers equipment rolled in to tear what remained of the building down.
At the time, the NewsMail reported specialist equipment arrived in Bundaberg Wednesday afternoon after engineers inspected the remains of the building and deemed it too unsafe for fire investigators to enter.
A crowd had gathered to watch on as the dismantling started at the top.
