A teenager allegedly behind the wheel while unlicensed during a horror crash that left a passenger (pictured) with critical injuries will face court later this month.

A 19-year-old Mount Morgan man will face court this month as police allege he was behind the wheel during a horror crash in Bundaberg in September 2022.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said a man was charged in November 2022 with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death or GBH while excessively speeding and left scene of incident without obtaining help, and driving without a driver’s licence.
The single-vehicle crash at McGills Rd, Kalkie caused teenage passenger Milla Jade Bennett to be thrown from the vehicle.
Ms Bennett suffered serious internal injuries and a head injury, and was taken to Bundaberg Base Hospital before being flown to Brisbane.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly fled the scene, sparking a police manhunt.
He is due to face Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 30.
