The NRL has officially unveiled the 2024 draw and Cowboys fans have been given a gift with 12 tantalising home games at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

A blockbuster round 8 clash with the reigning premiers Penrith for Anzac round highlights the schedule as well as hosting all of the club’s Queensland rivals across the year – including the Broncos on August 10.

North Queensland launches its season with five away games in the first seven rounds, in part due to the highly anticipated P!nk concerts in late March.

After facing Canberra on the road on June 14, the Cowboys only play three away games down the stretch.

Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel said that would allow North Queensland to surge into September with a wet sail.

“What it actually does give us, is out of the last eight weeks of the season we have six games at home,” Reibel said.

“We also, for the first time in 10 years, have an Indigenous round (match) and that’s against the Tigers.

“All in all, we’re very comfortable with the draw, it’s very well-balanced and a great opportunity for our members to get to all 12 games.

“In 2023 we travelled over 50,000km. Without going to Melbourne and also not going to New Zealand knocks around 10,000km off that travel routine, and what we’re talking about there is the recovery after the games and then getting ready for the game the next week, so that’s certainly a benefit for us.”

The Cowboys’ first bye comes in round 16, followed by weeks off in rounds 19 and 25.

North Queensland will face the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Magic Round in Brisbane on May 18.

The Cowboys NRLW team kick off their season against the Sharks on July 27 before hosting the Dragons in round 2.

Queensland Country Bank Stadium is the venue of an NRLW double-header in round 9 with the Dragons playing Brisbane before the Cowboys take on the Knights.

For the first time, Women’s State of Origin will be a three-game series with the potential decider held at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

“I think that’s testament to the support and growth of the female game in our area off the back of a third Women’s State of Origin game being earmarked for Townsville,” Reibel said.
