As Ronnie and Georgia’s winning streak continues as one team falls deeper into debt — and divisions in the group widen at the normally friendly ‘victory dinner’.

Resentment of Ronnie and Georgia’s winning streak reached a fever pitch, with Tanya, Vito and the twins boycotting the couple’s victory dinner.
Only Mitch and Mark and Jesse and Kirsty rocked up to celebrate Ronnie and Georgia’s bedroom and re-do wins at a local pub.

What made Vito storm off The Block
The other two teams —who have repeatedly been at loggerheads with Ronnie and Georgia following the cheating scandal — all claimed they were too busy with their kitchen
renovations and rehearsals for yet another dreaded lip synch battle to spend the night toasting a couple they openly dislike (to the cameras, at least).
“Nobody actually likes them. But everyone is just pretending to get on. But everyone is over them,” Josh scowled.
The brothers laughed that they’d rather hold their own “Losers and Boozers” party than attend this week’s Winners are Grinners’ meal.
While she’s always friendly to their faces, Tanya’s growing dislike for the couple also bubbled to the surface when she ranted to a producer: “I am trying to have a non-biased opinion about their rooms and what they’re doing but it’s really hard when they’re so smug. And they’re just annoying human beings.”
She then launched into an impersonation of Georgia that sounded more like Beeper from The Muppets, before adding: “We can’t be friends!”
The two teams were equally sour about what they saw in Ronnie and Georgia’s winning room when they toured their winning bedroom.
“Ronnie and Georgia, everything they do is nice. But for some reason when I walk in there. It doesn’t feel homey. It always feels staged,” Luke said.
And Vito added: “After seeing Ronnie and Georgia’s it’s just becoming a bit boring. A bit same old, same old.”
In fairness, its understandable Tanya and Vito would be frustrated seeing their arch rivals stacking up the cash as they fall deeper into debt.
They were visibly unhappy watching as Ronnie and Georgia’s snatched up even more cash during a prize wheel game.
As the occupants of House 1, the dynamic duo spun the wheel first, managing to secure the wildcard that allowed them to select any of the prizes offered. Georgia wasted no time scooping up the $5000 cash that everybody had their eyes on.
“Now there is a target on your back!” Mitch bellowed as Tanya, Vito and the twins glowered on the sidelines.
“As if their pockets weren’t full enough,” Josh moaned.
Mitch and Mark – who have come up empty-handed in past seasons in this game —pocketed the Stoke barbecue table, the twins got a $1000 Block Shop voucher and Kirsty and Jesse got $5000 worth of kitchen products.
The most cash-strapped of the teams, Tanya and Vito won themselves a cooked breakfast. Although I am sure it beats a Bacon and Egg McMuffin, a fancy brekkie won’t help them finish their kitchen let alone their house.
The Melbourne couple, however, were given reason to truly celebrate when host Scott Cam pulled an Oprah Winfrey move, announcing excitedly that “everyone gets a Gaggenau!” to resounding cheers.
Yep, they all get a pricey new fridge to put in their kitchens. And whoever designs the best kitchen would also get a wine fridge worth $100K!
As usual Kirsty and Jesse have the biggest job ahead of them. The location they selected for their kitchen is essentially a dirt patch with no walls. Oh, and there’s a huge staircase in the way too.
Before they could install a single navy Kinsman cabinet, they would have to build the entire room – literally – from the ground floor up. Thankfully they still had their Suncorp game-changer bonus to put towards building a new staircase.
Given they have the biggest house on The Block, they will be completing another bedroom and bathroom on top of their kitchen this week. And all on the same budget as everyone else.
But it was Mitch and Mark’s lofty kitchen plans that had foreman Keith most concerned.
Like, Kirsty and Jesse, Mitch and Mark were starting their week with a wall-less space. And within six days they wanted to install not only their kitchen, but a timber panelled ceiling filled with skylights.
When foreman Dan suggested they look at using butt-joints for their panelling, it prompted the usual wink-wink-nudge-nudge jokes from Mitch to a visibly underwhelmed Keith.
While Keith normally relishes a bit of bawdy humour, he said it was too early for that sort of thing. Clearly, he prefers his Benny Hill banter after he’s had a coffee from the McCafé.
But Mitch’s playful double entendre wasn’t going to be the most cringe-inducing thing Mark heard this week. The poor man was left visibly horrified when Scotty announced that they were bringing back the lip-synching competition this year.
Seasoned Block fans will remember watching a miniskirt clad Mark strutting his stuff – awkwardly – to Beyonce’s Single Ladies on their original season. It was painful to watch and, no doubt, even more painful for him to do.
This year, each team had to draw a music genre from a big pile of (sponsor) milk. Tanya and Vito got Country (cue sad faces from Kirsty and Jesse who drew the short straw with Rock).
The twins got musical theatre (deciding on doing Hakuna Matata from the Lion King after flirting with Les Mis), Ronnie and Georgia are performing pop. And Mitch and Mark will be (an old) boy band.
