Housing stock close to the CBD and numerous amenities could receive a significant boost if a development application gets the green light from Bundaberg Regional Council.
Consultants InsiteSJC lodged the application on behalf of local developers, Dehlia and Giovanni (John) Felesina, on Friday, March 1 for a block of four units on 143 Woongarra St, Bundaberg West.
Mr and Mrs Felesina are the former owners of Bourbong St’s Coins and Collectibles store, and also own the adjoining site at 141 Woongarra St in addition to six other properties throughout Bundaberg.
The Felesinas recently completed a four-unit block development on 141 Woongarra St, which the latest proposal states is similar to the development planned for the vacant land on the adjacent site.
The proposal includes four, single-storey two-bedroom units which would be developed and marketed towards an “affordable housing demographic”.

Each unit has its own kitchen and laundry, and a single garage accessed via a shared driveway off Woongarra St.
The site is in council’s medium density residential zone, and located close to Bundaberg’s health precinct including Bundaberg Hospital, Mater Hospital and numerous clinics and health care services.
Bundaberg State School is within walking distance, and Queens Park and the Salter Oval sports complex are also nearby.

The Felesinas bought the vacant lot from Melinda Harrison in August 2023, paying $300,000.
