Thousands of housing lots, more parks, and new shops are on the way to Coral Cover after the Bundaberg Regional Council backed the transformational development.

The housing estate with 620 residential lots, a future club and hotel precinct, and new parklands has given approval by councillors unanimously at the council’s latest general meeting.

The large-scale master planned community will be built in stages across four development precincts.

It will be built near the Coral Cove Golf Course and extend towards Innes Park Rd.

The first stage would include a tourism and coastal club precinct, including a new clubhouse, hotel, and holiday-style accommodation.

The approved plans include 373 residential lots in precinct three and an estimated 500 to 600 additional dwellings in precinct four.

It was expected between 1100 and 1300 homes would be built in the estate, council planning documents said.

These included lots proposed through subdivision and potential relocatable home parks.

The development would include a new centre with shops and with residential above, a large public park with water play and sports facilities, and upgraded road connections to Coral Cove Drive and Barolin Esplanade.

While detailed designs will be done later, the concept includes 40 units, 80 cabins, a commercial zone and new foreshore developments.

These would be built on parts of the existing golf course, with replacement holes created elsewhere on the course.

The developer said they were committed to maintaining access to the golf course and surrounding open space, with new landscaping buffers built to reduce impacts on nearby homes.
