Smoke scare on Barolin Street: Fire crews evacuate business

Emergency services have swarmed a Walkervale business after smoke was reported inside the building.

Emergency services are responding to reports of smoke at a commercial property on Barolin Street, Walkervale.

Four fire crews were sent to the scene about 10.15am, and the building was evacuated as QFD worked to determine the source of the smoke.
A QFD spokesman said crews were still investigating.
Paramedics are on-site assessing multiple patients.
“All patients are stable at this stage,” a QAS spokesman said.
Police and Ergon Energy are also in attendance.

The scene was cleared as of 12.15pm, and the smoke was reportedly caused by an air-conditioning vent.
