A man has been hospitalised and a home obliterated after a terrifying blaze tore through a Bundaberg property in the dead of night.

The charred remains of a Bundaberg home continue to smoulder after a devastating fire broke out just before 2am on Wednesday, June 25, leaving a trail of destruction and triggering a police investigation.
Emergency services rushed to Cortes Drive in Thabeban following reports the single-storey home on the corner of Wilmington Rd was alight.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said the house was “well-involved” when crews arrived, with firefighters battling the inferno for more than an hour. The blaze was under control by 3.10am and fully extinguished by 5.30am.
A man was taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition for treatment to minor injuries, including suspected smoke inhalation.
Queensland Police confirmed they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire. The cause remains unknown at this stage.
