A trip to McDonald’s, to help out his hungry mates, has landed a Bundaberg man with a prison sentence.

Bundaberg Magistrates Court heard Ethan Wade Jasperse already had a “troubling” criminal history and a disqualified licence when he got behind the wheel in the early hours of August 23.

Jasperse, 21, was pulled over on Elliott Heads Road where he admitted he’d been driving his friends to get some McDonald’s.

Representing himself before Magistrate Trinity McGarvie, Jasperse pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and was sentenced to a two-month prison term, suspended for three months.

He was also disqualified from driving for an additional two years and fined $450 for a second charge of possessing dangerous drugs after police found 11g of marijuana in his pocket when he was a passenger during a traffic stop on August 16.

Convictions were recorded.
