A woman who slapped a man across the face and told her co-accused to “bury him” has been fined $1000 by the Bundaberg District Court.

Amanda Lorraine Antoniolli, 45, sat in the dock as details of the two charges of assault were read out before Judge Tony Moynihan on Wednesday, August 18.

The court heard the victim, who was then 43, had been working at Antoniolli’s Agnes Water home on September 7, 2018, when she called a staff meeting and asked if he had stolen something, before slapping him in the face.

Antoniolli then turned to a co-accused on the matter who was dealt with on November 19, 2019, and told that person to “bury him” in relation to the victim.

The court heard the victim feared for his life and left.

When police caught up with Antoniolli, who has a criminal history, she declined an interview and was released on bail.

It was heard that recording a conviction could be damaging to the defendant's work, and as such, the Crown requested that Antoniolli not have a conviction recorded.

The request was supported by the defence.

Judge Moynihan noted Antoniolli had pleaded guilty to both charges, had been co-operative and had expressed remorse over her actions.

“It is serious offending, but you do not challenge the facts...,” he said.

“I infer that the victim has suffered some harm and has been adversely affected as a result of your offending.”

Antoniolli was fined $1000 for both offences, to be paid on or before December 1, 2022.

If she fails to pay by then she could face a month in prison.

No convictions were recorded.
