A woman has been taken to hospital after sustaining stab wounds to her abdomen overnight.

A woman in her 50s has suffered stab wounds to her abdomen after a reported assault near Bundaberg overnight.

Emergency services responded to calls of a woman with minor stab wounds to her abdomen about 7.11 Wednesday evening.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Police said initial investigations determined the wounds were self-inflicted.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene and rushed her to Bundaberg Hospital for further treatment.
