Man in his 70s airlifted after steer attack near Gaeta
A farmer was in a serious condition in Bundaberg Hospital on Tuesday after an almost deadly encounter with a large steer on a cattle property near Bundaberg.

A man in his 70s was still recovering in hospital on Tuesday following a serious encounter with a steer west of Bundaberg on Monday, June 16.
LifeFlight airlifted the man from a property near Gaeta, where the man had been “working on a cattle station in the Bundaberg region when he was trampled”.
He suffered serious injuries to his chest on the private property near Gaeta.
The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics to treat the man at the scene.
A QAS spokesman said emergency services attended at about 3.15pm on Monday, where they treated the patient for significant chest injuries.
He was subsequently flown to Bundaberg Hospital by a LifeFlight crew in a stable condition.
