Two random outbursts in as many days have landed a Bundaberg man in court.

Jordan Andrew William Crealy, 23, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday to wilful damage, stealing and committing public nuisance.

He appeared in court by videolink from the Bundaberg Watch House.

The first of the offences happened on Friday when Crealy was walking past the Hungry Tum in the Bundaberg CBD.

About 3.30pm, Crealy picked up a chair and swung it towards a tinted glass window.

The chair remained stuck in the broken window and Crealy walked away.

He was later identified on CCTV, arrested and declined to be interviewed by police.

At 5pm on Sunday, Crealy went to a Liquorland store on Takalvan St where he picked up a six pack of beer and placed it near the exit on top of another shelf.

He then started having a conversation with himself and waving his arms around, before picking up the beer and leaving without paying for it.

The court heard once outside, Crealy started yelling and ranting before throwing the six pack at the wall of the store, causing the bottles to break with glass shattering on the footpath.

He then continued yelling and throwing his arms around before picking up a trolley and threw it at a bin.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Dean Burgess told the court alarmed members of the public began filming the incident.

Sergeant Burgess said Crealy had a number of like offences in his history.

He also said Crealy was on probation and had been since March.

“It’s a pattern of behaviour your honour with Mr Crealy,” he said.

“Perhaps, even though it’s been a short time (on probation), something more needs to hang over his head, he’s been on probation since March and he’s had two opportunities now.”

Duty lawyer Rian Dwyer, who represented Crealy, submitted to the court Crealy’s probation order had not yet had time to have an impact on him.

Mr Dwyer said Crealy was homeless and going through a “difficult time”.

He said Crealy had been diagnosed with drug induced psychosis and intended on getting help with his mental health when released from custody.

Mr Dwyer also told the court Crealy’s behaviour was reflective of an underlying issue.

Magistrate Andrew Moloney took into account Crealy’s plea came at the earliest opportunity and that he had spent a night in custody.

Mr Moloney accepted Crealy had only been on probation for a short period of time and it was yet to assist him get to the bottom of what caused him to act the way he did.

Crealy was fined $600 and a conviction was recorded.
