Hottest tradie 2025 Wide Bay is Bri Sengstock

Industrial electrician Bri Sengstock is just ‘one of the boys’ when it comes to her sometimes sticky and messy job. Read her reaction to winning Hottest Tradie 2025 and find out who made the top three:

Young industrial electrician Bri Sengstock has been voted the Wide Bay’s hottest tradie of 2025.

Young industrial electrician Bri Sengstock has been voted the Wide Bay’s hottest tradie of 2025.

Ms Sengstock works at the Isis Sugar Mill and beat out 15 finalists for the honour, with 20 per cent of the vote.

In second place was Bundaberg builder Bronson David, with 15 per cent of the vote, and third was diesel mechanic Riley Emmit with 10 per cent of the vote.

The 24-year-old Maryborough woman has worked as an industrial electrician since earning a certificate II in Electrotechnology in high school.

She quickly found her place in the industry, working first at the Maryborough Sugar Mill in 2018 before moving on to the Isis Sugar Mill in 2023.

Ms Sengstock, who also volunteers as a rural firey, is proud to carry on her family’s legacy of sugar mill work.

Bri Sengstock volunteers her time with the RSF, and enjoys dancing, aerial sports and athletics.

“I come from a line of sugar mill workers... honestly it’s something I find really interesting,” she said.

“It’s not just wires.

“I get grease, sugar, juice and molasses on me at work.

“It’s not always a clean job. But still have to get in and have a go.”

Winner of the Wide Bay’s hottest tradie competition 2025, Bri Sengstock, works as an industrial electrician at Isis Sugar Mill.

On being a woman working in a male dominated industry, Ms Sengstock said she was not fazed.

“I go to work and I do my job,” she said.

“The fellas I work with are great!

“I’m just one of the boys.

“They are all very respectful people.

“You respect them, they respect you, it’s a two way street at the end of the day.”

When off the job, Ms Sengstock enjoys dancing, athletics and aerial sports.

“I’ve always been a hands-on girl,” she said.

One of her favourite things about the job is being able to teach apprentices the ropes.

“I’ve had great mentors and tradies and I hope to be one too,” she said.

The 24-year-old electrician beat out 16 other tradie nominations, most of them men.
