Verdict: Is Parental Guidance poop-joke galore?
20th CENTURY Fox have been releasing some family movies around the Christmas and new year period.
It seems as if they are releasing the Alvin and the Chipmunks sequels for a cash grab... I will admit though, the first Chipmunk film was really good, but the other two... what a mistake!
So, they've decided to release Parental Guidance which stars Billy Crystal (from Monsters Inc) and Bette Midler (from Hocus Pocus).
The film is about a pair of grandparents (who have not seen their grandchildren in about a year), who are called in to look after their grandkids after their mother and father go on a holiday.
The acting in this film is great, especially Billy Crystal... his facial expressions are extremely hysterical.
Bette Midler offers some funny lines, but, Billy Crystal owns this movie! I wouldn't say it is awesome... but a simple great is one word to describe the acting in this film.
The script for this film is extremely average. They do have too many fart jokes.
The poop jokes, are handled well, but not fluently.
The script has too many endings and the 105-minute run time could've been 85 minutes. I did laugh a lot though.
And there is some stuff in here for older audiences, so... that's redeeming!
The directing is again... average. Some scenes could be handled well... as for other scenes it kind of got a little out of hand.
Overall Parental Guidance is a funny, and at times, heartwarming movie.
