Cyclist injured in alleged van hit-and-run at Burnett Heads

Police will allege the driver of a grey van hit a cyclist near Bundaberg before driving away without trying to help.

A man has been left with serious injuries after a suspected hit-and-run near Bundaberg.

A Queensland Police spokesman said a grey van was driving on Powers St, Burnett Heads, about 1pm on Saturday when they struck a cyclist.

Police will allege the van did not stop to provide any help to the cyclist.

The 69-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to Bundaberg Base Hospital for treatment.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was in a stable condition.

Police are now asking anyone with relevant information, CCTV, or dashcam footage of the incident to contact police.
