Boy, 8, attacked by dingo at Happy Valley, K’gari
A boy has been bitten by a dingo while in his father’s arms in the latest in a spate of attacks on K’gari.

An eight-year-old boy was attacked by a dingo while in his father’s arms at a K’gari beach on Saturday evening.
It is understood the boy was at the beach in the Happy Valley area of the island with his parents when he stumbled and fell over.
A dingo approached the boy, who was picked up by his father.
The dingo then jumped up and bit the boy on the buttocks and scratched down his back, leaving puncture wounds and scratches.
The child’s parents took him to a nearby resort for help and Queensland Ambulance Service was called around 7pm.
A paramedic accompanied the boy and his mother on a police vessel to Hervey Bay, where he was taken to hospital for treatment.
It is understood the family saw multiple dingoes approach them through the darkness as they walked on the beach.
The father picked up the boy in an attempt to get him to safety, but one of the animals pounced.
It comes just weeks after a 10-year-old boy was bitten on the shoulder by a dingo and dragged under water in front of a campsite in June.
Around the same time, video emerged of a dingo nipping an unsuspecting French tourist on the backside while she sunbathed on an island beach.
A few months prior, a six-year-old girl was held underwater by a dingo at Waddy Point on the island.
She sustained multiple minor bites to her head and fingers.
K’gari assistant principal ranger Danielle Mansfield at the time issued a warning over dingo activity on the island ahead of the school holidays, urging tourists to be wary.
