There are significant traffic delays on the Bruce Highway following multiple crashes north of Brisbane on Monday morning.

Traffic is banked for over 20km along the Bruce Hwy from Caboolture to Bald Hills, following crashes at Griffin and Burpengary East during the morning commute.

Emergency services were called to a five-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the Bruce Hwy at Griffin at about 5.30am.

According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, a female was assessed, but didn’t have any obvious injuries.

The crash was cleared just before 6am, but traffic has banked up back to North Lakes.

As that crash was cleared, a separate nose-to-tail multi-vehicle crash involving over four vehicles took place in the southbound lanes of the Bruce Hwy at Burpengary East, just after 6am.

According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, two people were taken to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition.

The crash has been cleared, but heavy delays are expected.

More to come.
