A dream life of business success and global adventures for a high-flying glamour couple has turned into a nightmare after a devastating stabbing at their beachfront property.

Skincare and beauty mogul Gry Tomte and her husband Zdravko (Zed) Bilic were living the dream before their decades-long love story came to a tragic end.

A successful business, major award wins, speaking engagements, glamorous overseas travel, and a beachfront home worth millions on the Sunshine Coast, they seemed to have it all.

But the world came crashing down when Mr Bilic, 57, was found unresponsive by a neighbour in the front yard of his Napalle St property in Warana about 7.35pm on Monday.

He died after sustaining stab wounds to the abdomen.

Ms Tomte, who was not home at the time and raised the alarm with a neighbour after not hearing from Mr Bilic, described her husband as the “kindest, gentlest person I’ve ever known”.

Earlier she said he was “the most supportive human I could ever ask for”.

“It’s not easy living with a perfectionist who lives and breathes work … But he is the yin to my yang. The calm to my storm.”

His Facebook profile shows a husband who was proud of his wife’s business success.

He shared her business awards posts along with his own passion for football, his love of her, his mother and the beloved Croatia where he was born.

As hardworking immigrants they had carved out an exciting future together in Australia.

Originally from Norway, Ms Tomte founded Melbourne-based skincare company HUD Skin and Body, with clinics in St Kilda and Northcote.

The company’s website describes the brand as “the most award-winning skin clinics in Melbourne”, saying Ms Tomte wanted to focus on a “no BS approach to skin” and “long-term results” after spending decades battling her own skin conditions.

With a huge waiting list, she decided she needed her own studio and a team to cope with the demand.

Starting in an old rundown three storey building, Ms Tomte overcame a lot of early challenges and built a great team around her to become super successful.

She says she was ‘pinching’ herself knowing they were able to buy a house in St Kilda, before they bought the beachfront home on the Sunshine Coast.

Ms Tomte and Mr Bilic purchased the five-bedroom, three-bathroom home for $2.5 million in December 2021, settling on the property in March 2022.

Given property prices on the Coast, it would be worth far more than that now.

“I don’t care.

“But what I do know is that is business is a struggle, if motivation is a struggle, it won’t get better if you don’t take a breath.”

Mr Bilic, who called his wife Beba, described her as ‘amazing, beautiful, fantastic and wonderful’ in a post marking her ‘25th birthday for a second time’.

“It is incredible how much we have experienced in our journey together and so much more to come.

“(I) cannot tell you how lucky am I to have you in my life … you look FABULOUS and still make my heart flutter.

“But it’s also been beautiful.’’

“Full of new friendships and community, new ventures and exciting opportunities. Speaking gigs, coaching gigs, travel, new perspectives and experiences – and lots and lots of growth.

And the fact that I’ve been able to help a number of business owners have their best year, both in the heir business and personal life – just tops it off so eloquently.

“Here’s to 2025: Whatever the year brings I am ready…..Hope you are too.”
