A shocking video of a violent altercation allegedly between a teacher and a student in a school north of Brisbane is circulating and an investigation is underway.
The video, obtained by 7News, shows the student attempting to open and climb from a window before the pair threw a cork board at each other.
It shows the student grabbing a computer before he put it back down and left the classroom.
The incident occurred earlier this week at a Moreton Bay school.
A Department of Education spokesman said the department was committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both students and educators in all Queensland classrooms.
“Schools follow strict protocols and processes to manage incidents, and any unacceptable behaviour is addressed in line with department policies and the school’s Code of Conduct,” they said.
It is understood an investigation is underway and the teacher is on discretionary leave following the incident.
The Courier-Mail understands the school is continuing to address the student’s actions and further action is being taken in accordance with the school’s Student Code of Conduct.
