Pete Evans’ Evolve Health Lab in Byron Bay is up for sale at “below replacement” price for $295,000.

The alternative health lab which offers cryotherapy, a hyperbaric treatment chamber, a room for localised cryo treatments, and another for red light therapy opened less than a year ago in the Habitat quarter in the Byron Bay industrial estate.

The sales pitch through Raine and Horne says: “With a brand-new stunning interior layout, this business opened in September 2020 in the thriving Habitat complex in Byron Bay.

“Suited to a buyer who is currently in the health and beauty or other allied business to add to their offering, the space can be further utilised to add in other services as there are 4-6 treatment room options in the 98m2 space.

“The owners are involved in other business interests that are taking up most of their time so are reluctantly selling this business.

“This offering is a walk-in walk-out opportunity with training provided if required.”

Sophie Christou, from Raine and Horne, said the business quietly went on sale a few weeks ago and there had been interest.

“We have had interest but I’m not at liberty to say any more,” she said.

It is the latest in a string of unfortunate business calamities for the former celebrity chef from TV show My Kitchen Rules.

The arrival of the pandemic last year flushed out the controversial chef’s increasingly conspiratorial bent — first with his promotion of a $15,000 light contraption called a BioCharger, which he claimed last April had a “recipe” for “Wuhan coronavirus” which led to a $25,200 fine by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for false claims.

His anti-vaccination views also led to Channel 7 dropping him from his lucrative My Kitchen Rules gig. However it was a cartoon he posted on social media of a MAGA cap-wearing caterpillar with a butterfly with the sonnenrad, or black sun, also known as the “sunwheel swastika” on its wings along with his caption “An oldie but a goldie” that spectacularly destroyed his successful cooking book career as well as numerous endorsements.

The symbol was co-opted by Nazi Germany and remains prevalent on neo-Nazi paraphernalia. It was used on the cover of the manifesto by the 2019 Christchurch mosque shooter Brenton Tarrant who killed 51 people.

When it was pointed out to him that the symbol was the black sun, he replied: “I was waiting for someone to see that.”

Mr Evans was then taken off Facebook and Instagram for spreading misinformation, and has since invested in a health farm near Mt Warning. He charges $2750 for a weekend retreat or $5000 for a couple.

Mr Evans was contacted for comment.
