A PRISONER accused of doing a runner from a police prison escort van on the Toowoomba Range has had his charges mentioned before the city's Magistrates Court.
Jason Lee Colless wasn't required to be in court but was represented by his solicitor Brad Skuse of David Burns Lawyers.
Mr Skuse told the court he had a conference booked with his client at the prison this week during which he would take further instructions.
Colless, 29, is accused of kicking open the door of the police van which was en route from the Toowoomba watch house to the prison in Brisbane about 8.30am, March 27.
The 29-year-old was already facing a number of charges prior to the alleged incident including serious assault of police, burglary, four counts of disqualified driving and multiple stealing matters.
He has since been charged with counts of escape lawful custody, obstructing police, stealing and two counts of trespass and entering a dwelling arising from the alleged incidents after alighting from the police van on the Warrego Highway on the range.
He has not as yet been required to enter any pleas to the charges.
Magistrate Kay Ryan remanded Colless in custody and adjourned all charges for mention back in the same court on May 7 with the defendant's appearance in court that day excused.
