Police seek help locating owner of stolen jewellery

THE jewellery, which police believed to be valuable, was found with "a known property offender" and police want to return it to its owner.

MURGON police are seeking help from the public in their quest to return stolen jewellery to its rightful owner.

Constable Stephanie Samuels of Murgon police said it was believed the jewellery was quite valuable.

"We located some valuable property in April that we believed to have been stolen," Const. Samuels said.

"We have done extensive searches so far to try and locate the owner with no result."

Const. Samuels said the jewellery came into police possession during an investigation.

"On the 24th of April, Murgon police located jewellery on a known property offender," she explained.

"Police are now attempting to locate the owner.

"The jewellery is described as old and unique and includes six rings, two bracelets and a pair of stud earrings."
